Walking & Riding Trails

More than 8 km of community walking and riding trails wind through the 900 acre property. Trail systems are easily accessible from every home site and connect to 12,000 acres of open range. 

Equestrian Centre

Featuring stalls, paddocks, turn-out pastures, indoor/outdoor riding arenas and lounge, this facility caters to English and Western riding interests.  Flexible boarding options allow you to board horse(s) right at your home site, at the equestrian center or a combination of both.

Community Amenities

Community Amenities will be available at the Equestrian Centre’s Ranchland Clubhouse.  The amenities available to residents will include a community lounge with a patio and BBQ pit, a fire pit and a large green play field.

Open Range

12,000 acres of open range are literally at your doorstep. This huge expanse of wide open grasslands provides endless opportunities for horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking and exploring. 

Urban Amenities

The gateway to the world-renowned Okanagan region and its wineries, lake country and recreational opportunities are only an hour away by car.  City destinations of Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton are not much further up the road and offer a wide array of shopping, dining and entertainment options. Kamloops, only 50 minutes away, offers all the attributes of a large city.

Recreational Amenities 

Golf - And plenty of it!  With three local golf courses in the immediate area and over 60 golf courses in the region, this is a golfer’s paradise.  An 18 hole golf course at Active Mountain Resort – only 15 minutes away – is scheduled to open Spring 2009.

Beaches, Swimming, Sailing, Boating – Nearby Nicola Lake and Monk Park are 20 minutes away and are favourite havens for sun seekers and water sport enthusiasts alike. Swimming, boating, windsurfing and sailing are all popular activities on Nicola Lake, with sailing programs and some moorage offered through the Kamloops Sailing Association.

Skiing – Winters are beautiful in the Nicola Valley.  Big White Ski Resort in Kelowna and Sun Peaks Ski Resort in Kamloops offer world class facilities and powder snow.  Also worth mentioning is a proposed all-season ski area, Coquihalla Pass Ski Resort, that is scheduled for development north of the Coquihalla toll both and only 40 minutes away.
Kane Valley Cross-Country Ski Trails are located at an elevation of 4000ft., about a 15 minute drive south of Ranchland Estates and offers a 45km trail system.

Fishing – Lakes and streams abound in the region and provide unrivaled angling, fly-fishing and ice fishing for seasoned fishermen and novices alike.  With over 200 lakes in the area, there is ample opportunity to fish a wide variety of species including the renowned Kamloops Rainbow Trout. 

Snowmobiling – There is excellent snowmobiling in the hills of the Nicola Valley  and surrounding area. 

Birdwatching – Birder’s will be thrilled with the number and variety of birds in the region.  Common sightings include bald eagles, osprey, red-tailed hawks and a variety of waterfowl.  Adjacent Chutter Ranch also provides hill-top dancing grounds for the Sharp-tailed Grouse and habitat for Burrowing Owls.

Mountain Biking - The Merritt Mountain Biking Association website offers information and maps on the many trail systems in the Nicola Valley, including those on Lundbom Commonage adjacent to Ranchland Estates. There is a variety of terrain and beautiful views including timberlands, open grasslands and emerald lakes.
